Jacuzzi lights play an important role in creating an awesome illuminating experience in your Jacuzzi, which adds to the ambiance. Different types of therapy lights are also available. Some people like to install Swimming Pool Lights in their Jacuzzi. Honestly, not a good idea. Swimming Pool Parts Manufacturers come and go, and the last thing you want is a massive hole in the Jacuzzi.
The whole weight of the Jacuzzi rests on its Foot Well, which, in bigger Jacuzzi’s, could be up to 3 000 Kg. Cutting a 30 cm hole in this support structure is not a good idea.
Note: Depending on the amount of pumps you have installed, at least one of them will be directly connected to theheater. If you intend switching your Jacuzzi on please make sure that you turn thethermostatto Zero or if you can find the Switch for the heater you can turn that off too.
Also make sure there is enough water in the Jacuzzi to at least cover the seats. Some Jacuzzi’s won’t switch on until you get the water to the required level. Jacuzzi jet pumps variate from installation to installation. If you need professional assistance with installing your Jacuzzi Jet Pump please Click Here Now!!
Basically you can divide Jacuzzi Jet Pumps into 2 Classes:
Jacuzzi Jet Pump – Self Priming or Swimming Pool Pump
Self Priming means the pump can be situated higher than the level of the water in the Jacuzzi itself. So if there is water in the Jacuzzi, the pump should be able to fill itself up within 5 – 6 Seconds. Once the pump is full, water should be spraying from the jets slowly at first, but more powerful after say 30 seconds.
Jacuzzi Jet Pump – Self Draining
Self Draining means the pump MUST be situated LOWER than the level of the water in the Jacuzzi itself.
Notice that this pump doesn’t have a Basket or another name for it is a leave trap.
Jacuzzi Jets are mostly manufactured from SABS Approved Polymers that fuse together very well with PVC Pipes once PVC weld or Tangit has been applied to both surfaces.
There are many variations of these jets on the market. The most common would be the 50 mm / 32 mm pipe combination. Meaning that the water channel runs in the 50 mm pipe and the Venturi Air System is connected to the 32 mm pipe.
This jet has a venturi system, which allows for air to be sucked in to the water channel to boost the Jacuzzi Jets Pressure.
The other type of popular Jacuzzi Jets are the 32 mm / 32 mm configuration. These type of Jacuzzi Jets are used in installations where there is not adequate enough space.
The Venturi system is attached to an Air Control (a type of dial situated on top of your Jacuzzi).
Jacuzzi Hot Tub Shells are manufactured from high grade sanitary acrylic sheets supplied by Lucite International a UK based Company With branches all over the world.
There used to be a whole variety of colors to choose from in South Africa a few years ago, but with the economy slowly deteriorating, many of the Jacuzzi manufacturers have scaled down on their production as the demand has dropped significantly.
This resulted in Lucite international limiting their export colors to South Africa to only white and Kalahari Beige, which is a sand brown color, very beautiful and also the most popular sheet color. Unfortunately, sometimes there is only white available.
These Acrylic sheets are heated in an oven until about 141 degrees centigrade, before they are clamped to a mold. The air is sucked out from under the sheet and this causes the acrylic sheet to take on the form of the mold.
Once the sheet has cooled enough, it is removed from the mold and trimmed in order for it to be re-in forced with fiber glass.
Once the Jacuzzi has been sprayed with Fiber Glass and dried for at least 2 Hours it can then be plumbed according to the Customers Specifications. Be careful not to drill too many holes in the bath, as this could weaken the Jacuzzi support structure.
Many funny and unwanted cracks and bulges will start appearing everywhere. It is very important to support the Foot Well of the Jacuzzi with either Cement or River Sand.
Note: Jacuzzi Water Heaters are electric elements that cannot under any circumstances be on if there is no water running over it or even just surrounding it.
The first thing that will happen is that it will burn a hole in the Jacuzzi Water Heater casing, after that the power should immediately trip and the element will POP (Burn a hole in the element, if this happens you should hear a loud popping sound.) The Jacuzzi Hard Water Heating Element is one of the components that get replaced the most often. Sometimes when used incorrectly the Jacuzzi Water Heater will make a popping sound and the lights will trip.
It is very common for Swimming Pool Companies to install Geyser Elements in to the Jacuzzi Water Heater Casing. This will result in the element breaking much quicker than usual.
Inside water you find microscopic particles of metal and other impurities. Flowing over the heated Jacuzzi Water Heater it tends to puncture it after a few hours.
Bellow is an example of an Geyser Element.
“NOTICE THAT IT IS SILVER IN COLOR”
Jacuzzi Water Heaters come in three sizes: 2 KW, 3 KW, 4 KW. Of which only the 2 KW and 3 KW Jacuzzi Water Heaters can be plugged in to a normal house plug. (It should be attached to at least a 15 Amp Circuit Breaker in your houses main DB.)
